Poe's Basement

Design concept for a short docu-fictional film based upon  'The Moth' Podcast, Poe & I, written and directed by Isla Badenoch.

Based on a true story, the premise of its narrative follows a man who loses his home and job in New York City and finds a way to live in the basement of a house rent-free. This basement is in the historic cottage of the American Gothic writer, Edgar Allan Poe situated in the Bronx, an area renowned for its drug-crime and violence. He must give tours of the house to eccentric actors, drug-dealers and many strange occurrences happen to him.

This film is to test out* various visual elements for the production design and direction of its creation.

*Note: the visuals/audio act as an 'animatic' for the visual design.
